Flagship software

SAAM GCS — Ground Control Station

Our in-house ground control station pairs natively with SaamPix and any MAVLink autopilot over serial, TCP or UDP. Plan missions, monitor live telemetry, replay flight logs and rehearse in simulation — all from one screen, with multi-user roles and fleet support built in.

SAAM GCS Telemetry tab — live HUD, flight data and map with mode and flight controls

Live HUD with attitude, airspeed and EKF health, full flight-data panel, and one-click mode, guided-to-point and Arm+Takeoff controls beside the map.

Live Telemetry

Real-time HUD, vibration monitor and flight data with speech alerts. Guided fly-to by lat/lon or a pasted Google Maps link, with tracking tags and auto-pan.

Mission & Geo-Fence

Waypoint planning with save/load, mission upload/download, and Mission Planner-style fences — circle or polygon, altitude and radius limits, RTL actions.

Log Playback

Load DataFlash logs with hundreds of series, plot any channel, export CSV, and replay the flight over a live 3D terrain view.

SITL Simulation

Integrated ArduPilot SITL runs real firmware on your PC — every GCS tab works exactly as with a real drone, over live 3D world terrain.

Fleet & Users

Multiple drones on one screen with an active-drone selector, plus admin-managed user accounts and roles.

Indian Grid Coords

Native Indian Grid impact-coordinate readout alongside GEO — built for Indian survey and range work.

Offline Maps

Prefetch map tiles for offline field use, with selectable providers and terrain elevation overlay.

Video & Debug

Live video tab, serial debug console and in-app firmware flashing round out the field toolkit.

From box to first flight

Getting started with SaamPix 1.0

  1. Install a GCSDownload Mission Planner (ArduPilot) or QGroundControl (PX4) on your computer.
  2. Connect to PCPlug SaamPix 1.0 in over micro-USB — it appears as a serial COM port.
  3. Flash firmwareLoad ArduCopter, ArduPlane or PX4 through your ground station.
  4. Calibrate sensorsGuided setup for accelerometers, gyro, compass, barometer and RC radio.
  5. Connect peripheralsGPS & compass, ESCs/servos on 16 PWM outputs, telemetry on TELEM1/2, power module, and LiDAR/cameras/companion computers over I2C, CAN or UART.
  6. Configure flight modesStabilize, AltHold, Loiter or Auto — plus fail-safes, safety switch and buzzer checks.
  7. First flightComplete pre-arm checks, confirm GPS lock and sensor status, then fly in a safe open area.

Who we are

The MADE IN INDIA revolution

SAAM Drones is an Indian UAV technology company doing everything in-house — schematic capture, PCB layout, firmware, ground software and flight testing. Our concept is simple: build a flight controller that supports multiple complex VTOL configurations, on a two-layer technology that is simple, affordable and reliable.

From the first SAAM FC 1.0 prototype to the SaamPix 1.0 production board, every design has been flown on our own airframes before it reaches a customer. That loop — design, build, fly, refine — is what we mean by inhouse research.
